Hi! I’m Perry Huang, and I recently graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Industrial Engineering, with a concentration in human factors.

From furniture assembly instructions to website designs, I've long been intrigued by the use of visuals as a medium of guidance. But what if we could enhance design with psychology and principles of human behavior? As an engineering student, I learned about the science behind how people think and behave, as well as how to cater to those human tendencies and behaviors through design. The realization that I could use my engineering knowledge and my passion for design to craft intuitive interfaces and shape seamless experiences while solving problems redirected me on a mission to build solutions that make sense for humans.

As a detail-oriented person, I embrace the challenge of tending to specific concerns while ensuring my work contributes to the bigger picture. I also have plenty of robust writing experience from project deliverables in translating design concepts and thoughts into words, as well as documenting meeting minutes and organizing ideas in an easily digestible manner.

I am open to remote or hybrid working arrangements, as I would welcome the opportunity to relocate to a different location. However, having completed the entirety of 4th year remotely, I am proficient in collaborating remotely and dealing with various workplace rigors, such as maintaining timely communications with others, participating in meetings, and assisting in documentation efforts.

I'm always in search of new music to immerse myself in, from the classical works of Liszt and Ravel to the jazz grooves of Bill Evans and Stan Getz. I also like to enjoy long walk through cities and soaking in the urban atmosphere.

I'm Perry Huang, and I am currently a 3rd year Industrial Engineering student at the University Toronto with a minor in engineering business.

I've always been interested in design.

From furniture assembly instructions to website design, I’ve been attracted to the use of visuals as a medium of guidance, a message conveyed through a universal language.

But what if we could fuse design with psychology and principles of human behavior? As an engineering student, I was able to learn more about the science behind how people think and behave, as well as how to use design to adapt to those human tendencies and behaviors. The realization that I could use my engineering knowledge and my passion for design and visuals to create appealing interfaces and craft seamless experiences while solving problems redirected me on a mission to create designs that make sense for humans.

I want my designs to work for the user, not for the user to work for the design.

I’m a huge soccer enthusiast, watching matches as often as possible and still very much in the process of absorbing niche knowledge of everything soccer. (However, I’ve also been getting into rugby as well!)

As a violin player, I drink in music day and night, in constant search of tunes that resonate with me, from classical to bossa nova to psychedelic soul.

Lastly, I like to explore cities by foot, feeling the culture and atmosphere, traversing through streets, and finding my place in the urban ecosystem. My favorite cities are New York City and London, and I'm more than happy to share my experiences there!
